A reflective coating is a must to protect it from the heat.
Our full service includes a thorough clean of your roof, repairing any existing damage and replacing tiles where necessary, prior to the application of our protective coating (two coats). Our coating is both breathable and waterproof and offers long term protection to your roof, saving you money in the future. We use a variety of coatings including:-
Butyl – Butyl rubber is impermeable to air, has excellent flexibility and is very durable. However, it´s creation and disposal are harsh on the environment so customers may opt for an alternative.
Acrylic –These elastomeric coatings are highly durable and better used on roofs with good drainage as they do not withstand ponding as well as others. Containing a high amount of solids, they are also more reflective than their counterparts, so we recommend them for more extreme UV climates. Many acrylic coatings also contain potent biocides which help deter mildew and mold.
Polyurethane– These coatings are incredibly durable in comparison to others. They are perfect for roofs with a lot of foot traffic and are tough against ponding. They are also resistant to expansion and contraction of your roof in temperature changes. They can be difficult to apply and harsh on installation equipment, so the employment of a professional is highly recommended.
Silicone – Boasting a solids percentage of nearly 90% means less material is required to achieve the desired thickness. This density also means that silicone coatings are highly UV resistant and withstand ponding meaner they tend to have longevity. The only drawback is silicone coatings require more maintenance than other coatings as they attract dirt and require regular washing to prevent the loss of reflectivity. They are also prone to tearing and can be slippery when wet.
